Every event teaches you something — even the ones that turn out absolutely amazing. I recently planned a birthday party that was a total hit, filled with laughter, energy, and all the fun a celebration should have. But behind the scenes, I walked away with a few important reminders that will help me (and future clients!) make every event even smoother.

As an event planner, I believe in staying organized and keeping everyone on the same page. For this party, I created two lists for the mom: a grocery list, and a "things to grab from home" list.

However, the day of the event, I realized she only received the groceries — not the second list. She simply didn't know it existed. That small miscommunication created unnecessary chaos that could have been avoided with one simple step: verifying she received both lists.

Always Confirm the "Must-Haves"

We never got a wishlist of the birthday girl's top items, which meant we missed out on doing a balloon arch — something I could have easily added and would have made her day even more special.

These little things matter. They're the difference between great and unforgettable.

What I'm Taking Forward

  • Always double-check that every list is received and understood.
  • Confirm the "non-negotiables" or top wishlist items early.
  • Communicate expectations clearly on both sides.

As much as I help others stay organized, these reminders help me grow and continue delivering the highest level of care — because at Be Weisz Event Planning, every detail truly does matter.

If you're planning a party and want a smooth, joyful, stress-free experience, I'd love to help bring your vision (and the birthday wishes!) to life.
